Marjorie Northcutt passed away September 30, 2018 in Odessa, Texas, she was 89 years old. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday October 4, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 11-6 also at Stevens Funeral Home.
Born October 25, 1928, Marjorie was one of ten children to be lovingly raised by parents James Escar and Mildred Allen Collum in Maud, Oklahoma. She worked hard both at home helping with children in the community, and at school graduating as the 1946 Salutatorian at Harjo Highschool before attending Business School in Shawnee, OK. Where she again excelled, graduating from her program in only 10 months and using those skills she acquired in her new job at the credit bureau.
Marjorie married her loving husband, Gene Northcutt on October 9, 1949. Together they started a life in Lea County, NM. Together they raised three sons, and enjoyed together traveling, going camping up in Cloudcroft and going fishing in Zapata TX. She stayed active in her community, working with the elections every year, and being an active member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lovington. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene Northcutt, son Mike Northcutt, parents James and Mildred Collum, sisters Winona Bunch, Wilma Dean Scott and June Stovall, brothers Red Collum, Jake Collum and Edward Collum.
Left to treasure her memory are her sons Darryl and Jackie Northcutt, brother Pete Collum and sisters Beverly Barton and Patsy Anson. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews and an extensive church family. This kind, loving woman will be missed by all who knew her.
