Chris Stevens

Chris Stevens has 20 years experience in the funeral profession. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of New Mexico and Texas. He moved to Lovington, New Mexico in 1997 from Gainesville, Texas. He has been married for 39 years to Wanda. They have three daughters, Louann, Becky and husband Chad, Carey and husband Scott, and have three granddaughters, Miranda, Taylor and Baylee. He is a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of Rotary Club International.

He was a department store manager in Oklahoma, and worked for a bank doing marketing; he was bi-vocational and full time as a music and youth director in a Baptist Church before deciding to change professions and becoming a funeral director.
Wanda Stevens

Wanda Stevens (married to Chris) has eleven years experience in the funeral profession. She is a Funeral Service Intern in the state of New Mexico. She moved with her husband to Lovington, New Mexico in 1997 from Gainesville, Texas. They have been married for 39 years. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.

She is a member of the First Baptist Church; and a member of the Chaparral Grandmother’s Club. Before moving to Lovington she worked in a doctor’s office as Office Manager and had 21 years experience working for doctors and medical records in a hospital.
Gabriel Ramirez

Gabriel Ramirez (married to Martha) grew up in Fullerton, California, until he met his wife Martha and married in February 1981. He then moved to Lovington, New Mexico in May 1981. He worked in the oilfield for 2 years and then worked as a mechanic and car salesman for 17 years until I met Chris and Wanda Stevens and started working for Stevens Funeral Home in 2002.

Gabriel and Martha have two daughters, Emilia, AnnMarie and a son Gabriel, five granddaughters, a grandson and one on the way
Bobbye Allen

Bobbye Allen was born in Healdton, OK, but most of her life was spent in Lea County, New Mexico. She graduated from Hobbs High School, and in later years received an associate degree from New Mexico Junior College in Principles of Insurance, as well as a Paralegal degree on Probates and Estate Administration.

After WWII, Bobbye married her high school sweetheart, Fred Allen, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before he passed away in 2000, she has two children, David, a band director in Hobbs and Lovington, and Sandra, a retired school teacher. Bobbye has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bobbye is a member of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church, is a member of the Lovington, Hobbs, Eunice and Jal Chamber of Commerce, Lea County Women’s Network, Lea County Museum Board, Friends of the Library and a life member of ESA Women International.

Bobbye has worked as a teller at Lea County State Bank, Cashier at C. R. Anthony Co. for 10 years, office manager at Wallace Oil Company, Financial Specialist and Bailiff for District Court, Fifth Judicial District, and was elected Probate Judge and served for 8 years before retiring. She now is proud to be a part time receptionist for Stevens’ Funeral Home.
Zana Denny

Zana Denny is a native New Mexican and has lived in Lovington 39 years. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and met her husband there. They were married 32 years before his death and owned AAA TV for 29 years. She has one son, two daughters, seven grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

She organized Wacky Widows, which provides support and fun for non-smoking widows. She is very involved in church and Gideon’s International. She loves to travel and have fun.
Martha Ramirez

Martha Ramirez (married to Gabriel) grew up in Fullerton, California. Until she met her husband Gabriel and married in February 1981. She then moved to Lovington, New Mexico in May 1981. She worked for C. R. Anthony’s for 8 years, and then went to work for Western Commerce Bank for 6 years. She is now employed by the City of Lovington as a Water Clerk and works part time for Stevens Funeral Home.

Martha and Gabriel have two daughters Emilia and AnnMarie, and a son Gabriel, 5 granddaughters, a grandson and one on the way.
