Graveside service for Loyd F. Halford, 80, of Artesia, NM (formerly of Tatum for over 50 years) is scheduled for Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Tatum Cemetery. He passed away February 18, 2010 at his residence in Artesia, NM. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born February 20, 1929 to James and Maime Halford in Hyway, New Mexico. He was a U. S. Air Corp Veteran. He married Allene Halkins September 4, 1965 in Lovington, NM. He loved playing Dominoes at the Senior Citizen Center.
He is survived by his wife Allene Halford of Tatum, NM; two sons David Nailon & wife Beth of Artesia, NM, Steve Helmer & wife Sue of Tatum, NM, two daughters Patty Beggs and husband Bill of Portales, NM, Pam Hughes and husband Allen of Tatum, NM, 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brother Charlie Halford of Wichita Falls, Kansas, three sisters Wanetta Kay, Velta, & Ida Mae.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Leo and Carl Halford and a sister Floella Miller
Pallbearers are George Beggs, Jon Bohm, Steven Nailon, John Whitt, Treyton Beggs, and Bryce Bohm.
