Memorial Service for Richard Paul “Dick” Hammer, 70, of Lovington, NM is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to take place. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born September 23, 1939 in Great Falls, Montana to Paul & Helen Hammer. He passed away February 13, 2010 at his residence in Lovington, New Mexico. He Married Darlene Cagle.

He was on the City Council in Moab, Utah, a Volunteer Fireman, active in The Toastmasters and a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Hammer of Lovington, New Mexico; two daughters Calleen Hammer of Denver, Colorado and Paula McCarty of Carlin, Nevada, four step children Jimmy Feltman & wife Debbie of Lovington, New Mexico, Tammy Jones of Lovington, New Mexico, Kim Rinehart and husband Tim of Billings, Montana and Julie Feltman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, step father Buck Pickett, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, two sisters Pauline & Patty, three brothers Mike, Bill & Allen and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Sue “Toby” Hammer Jones, a sister Maxine Thompson and his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 629, Portales, NM 88130.
