Funeral Mass for Jose Hernandez Estrada, 94, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Lovington Cemetery. A Rosary is scheduled for Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 6:00 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He passed away December 27, 2009 at the Lovington Good Samaritan Care Center. He was born May 16, 1915 in Precidio, Texas.

He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He married Trinidad Ornelas February 14, 1935 in Precidio, Texas who preceded him in death June 9, 1984. He married Maria Louisa twenty years ago.

He is survived by his wife Maria Estrada of Lovington, NM, 3 sons Jesus Estrada, Jose A. “Tony” Estrada and Juan Ramon Estrada, 9 daughters Magdalena Granado, Maria Saldona, Cruz Robles, Josefina Aranda, Elidia Dominguez, Juanita Saenz, Chay Dominguez, Enedina Hernandez and Delma Garcia, numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pall bearers are Delfin Granado,Jr., Ramon Estrada, Jr, Alex Lopez, Saul Dominguez, David Robles, Eladio Dominguez, Jr., Arthur Aranda and Rudy Almanza. Honorary Bearers are Samuel Acevedo, Manuel Estrada, Victor Hernandez and Joseph Estrada.
